SOFIA — Fibank, or First Investment Bank, announced on Oct. 12 a partnership with Bitpanda to bring the Austrian platform's digital-asset services into Fibank's My Fibank mobile-banking app. Per Bitpanda Enterprise's announcement, the service is expected to go live in early 2027; it is not live yet, and customers cannot trade through the app today.

Once launched, eligible customers are expected to move from the bank's app into Bitpanda's crypto offering, with access described as 24/7 and a minimum investment of €1. The crypto service will remain provided by Bitpanda: availability will depend on Bitpanda's customer acceptance, terms and applicable service conditions rather than turning Fibank into the direct crypto broker.

For Fibank, the partnership is a planned distribution decision. Embedding an external digital-asset provider inside an existing bank app would let the bank test customer demand without building custody, execution and asset-listing infrastructure itself. For Bitpanda, the arrangement is intended to put its product in front of customers who already have a regulated banking relationship and a familiar authentication flow once the integration launches.

The planned early-2027 launch does not eliminate the risks associated with digital assets. Customers should review Bitpanda's terms, the assets expected to be available and the treatment of custody, pricing and losses before using the service. The announcement also does not say that every Fibank customer will be eligible, only that access will be subject to Bitpanda's acceptance.
