Who we are

About MFN

Market Finance News covers the institutions that move money — banks, asset managers, fintechs, insurers and private capital — for the people who work inside them.

Market Finance News (MFN) is a trade publication covering the business of finance. Our readers are practitioners: people who underwrite loans, price risk, allocate capital, build payment infrastructure or supervise the firms that do. We write for an audience that already understands the vocabulary and wants the mechanics.

What we cover

Our coverage is organized into six sections: Markets, Economy, Fintech, Private Capital, Deals and Regulation. We are deliberately narrow. We do not cover consumer personal finance, we do not publish market predictions, and we do not recommend securities.

Within that scope our bias is toward mechanism over narrative. When a rate moves, we would rather explain the auction dynamics or the balance-sheet transmission than characterize the mood of the market. When a company announces a funding round, we are most interested in what was not disclosed.

How we are funded

We are funded by subscriptions and by advertising, including sponsored articles. Sponsored articles are commercial content paid for by the company they discuss. They are labeled at the top of the page, badged everywhere they appear in our indexes, and excluded from the front-page editorial slots.

One of our advertisers, HL Hunt Financial, is affiliated with this publication. Any article about an affiliated company carries an explicit disclosure naming that relationship. We consider this the minimum acceptable practice, not a courtesy — a reader cannot evaluate a claim without knowing who paid for it.

Our staff

Every article carries a byline linking to the author’s page, listing their beat, their location and their contact address. Editorial decisions are the responsibility of the editor in chief. See the masthead for the full staff list.

This is a demonstration publication built to illustrate a complete editorial site structure. The staff described on our masthead are placeholders.
