STOCKHOLM — Trustly, the Stockholm-based open-banking payments company, announced on October 2 that it had secured equity commitment letters totaling more than $40 million from its principal shareholder, Nordic Capital, and existing investor Alfvén & Didrikson. The company described the letters as irrevocable and legally binding, with the transaction expected to close in November 2026.

Trustly said the capital is earmarked for its AI-powered growth strategy, specifically the development of new products aimed at converting the payment data the company already processes into real-time financial intelligence for merchants and financial institutions. The company did not disclose a valuation tied to the raise or specify which product lines the new funding would support first.

The company also said other existing shareholders will be given the opportunity to participate in the round before it closes, which is a structure more typical of an insider-led bridge or growth round than a new institutional financing. As with most private placements of this kind, Trustly did not disclose the pre- or post-money valuation implied by the commitment letters.
