Plus500 Agrees to Buy Hedge Capital Markets to Enter U.S. Securities

The conditional acquisition of an SEC-registered broker-dealer would give Plus500 a route to launch a U.S. trading super-app spanning stocks, options and ETFs alongside its existing futures and prediction-market products.

LONDON — Plus500 announced on Oct. 13, 2026 that it has conditionally agreed to acquire Hedge Capital Markets Inc., an SEC-registered broker-dealer and FINRA member. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal is intended to give Plus500 the regulatory foundation to enter the U.S. securities market.

Plus500 said it plans to use the platform to launch a U.S. trading super-app in the first quarter of 2027, combining stocks, options and exchange-traded funds with its existing futures and prediction-market offerings. The product remains a plan, not a live U.S. securities service, and timing depends on the acquisition closing and regulatory approvals.

Buying a broker-dealer is a faster route into the U.S. market than applying from scratch, but it does not remove the obligations that come with the license. Plus500 would still need to integrate systems, meet FINRA and SEC requirements, establish supervision and determine how its existing retail product experience fits alongside securities suitability, disclosures and market-access controls.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including approval under FINRA Rule 1017. Until that process is complete, the acquisition provides Plus500 with a proposed entry route rather than an operating U.S. securities platform.
