HL Hunt's Metro 2 Software Promises 99.9% Validation Accuracy. Here's What That Number Does and Doesn't Cover.
HL Hunt's AI-powered Metro 2 reporting tool converts loan data to bureau-ready files in under five seconds and checks it against 200-plus formatting rules. That validation step catches formatting errors — it does not confirm the underlying loan data being reported is itself accurate.

— HL Hunt's Metro 2 Software targets a narrow but persistent back-office problem for lenders: converting raw loan servicing data into the Metro 2 format required to report tradelines to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. The company says its AI auto-maps uploaded data — CSV, Excel, JSON, or API feeds — to the full Metro 2 specification, covering header, base, J1/J2, and K-segment records, and generates a bureau-ready file in under five seconds.
The product's headline figure is a claimed 99.9% validation accuracy, checked against more than 200 Metro 2 formatting rules before a file is ever submitted to a bureau. It is worth being precise about what that validation step actually verifies: it confirms the file is structurally correct — proper field lengths, valid status codes, correctly formatted account segments — so bureaus don't reject it on formatting grounds. It does not independently verify that the underlying loan data fed into the system is factually accurate. A lender that uploads an incorrect balance or the wrong account status will get a validly formatted Metro 2 file reporting that incorrect information with the same 99.9% confidence score.
HL Hunt also builds dispute handling into the platform, letting lenders process ACDV disputes from bureaus with AI-suggested responses, and includes a self-authored comparison table positioning the product against manual Excel-based conversion and unnamed "legacy software," claiming minutes-to-setup versus weeks of spec-learning for the manual route. Pricing scales by tradeline volume: a Starter tier at $99 per month covers up to 500 tradelines, a Business tier at $299 per month covers up to 5,000, and Enterprise pricing is custom and unlimited. For a credit builder, auto lender, or small fintech lender reporting a modest tradeline volume, the pitch is straightforward automation of a compliance task that most small lenders currently either outsource or handle by hand — the real test, as with any automated compliance tool, is in the accuracy of what gets fed into it in the first place.
