SAN FRANCISCO — Anchorage Digital announced the acquisition of Routable, a payouts platform that gives businesses an API for sending money through traditional bank rails. Financial terms were not disclosed. Following the transaction, the business will operate as Routable by Anchorage Digital.

The strategic logic is straightforward: Anchorage brings regulated stablecoin and tokenized-deposit infrastructure, while Routable brings fiat-native payout distribution. The combined pitch is a single payment-orchestration layer that can move money through whichever rail fits the transaction — a bank transfer for a conventional payout, or a digital dollar when speed or programmability matters more.

That is a different proposition from simply adding crypto payouts to an existing product. Corporate treasury teams generally do not have the option of moving entirely on-chain: suppliers, employees and customers still expect dollars in bank accounts. An asset-agnostic layer is meant to hide that complexity from the business while exposing a common API and operational workflow underneath.

Anchorage and Routable said integrated offerings are expected to roll out over the coming quarters. They have not published a combined product roadmap, pricing, or customer migration plan, so the acquisition is currently more a statement of direction than a live change to how Routable or Anchorage customers move money.
